Recreation & Tourism

Boating - New York State boat launch and safe Harbor at Mexico Point and the Little Salmon River off of State Route 104b - Just East of Mexico Point Park.

Fishing - One of the largest charter fishing fleets in New York State is located at Mexico Point on route 104b.

Swimming - Public beach at Mexico Point Park, located just off Route 104B. Beach open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. weather permitting, mid June to Labor Day. Free.

Parks - Mexico Point Park - Located just off Route 104B on the shore of Lake Ontario. Offers picnicking, nature trails, Historic Monument, Casey’s Cottage.

Bird Watching - Derby Hill and Noise Sanctuary - Maintained by Onondaga Audubon Society

Casey’s Cottage - Casey’s Cottage is located within Mexico Point Park. This unique 11th century style manor house is open for tours on weekends and by appointment. Call 9673-8216 or 963-7657 for appointment

LaGuerre d’Independance - Viewing hours are week days when the school building is open (normal business hours)? LaGuerre is a scenic wall mural that depicts the “War of Independence” in a 32-strip multicolored handcarved woodblock scenic first printed in 1852-1853.

Mexico Museum - Hours open Tuesdays 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturdays from noon to 2:00 p.m.
