Mayor Grimshaw, Trustees: Emery, Harter, Hotchkiss and Linerode, John Power, and Attorney Mowry
Mayor Grimshaw called the meeting to order at 2:00 pm.
Mayor Grimshaw stated that he called the emergency meeting due to the failure of the Little Salmon River Dam owned by the village. The Village of Mexico’s main concern at the present time is securing the 10-inch water main that serves the entire village. The main is unprotected from debris coming down the river and has two areas where the water has undermined it. John Power has been in contact with the DEC and C&S Engineers (John Camp) for the situation to be evaluated and the best possible solution to stabilize the main along with the cost involved. John Power recommends a strong encasement of the water line based on the recommendations of the Engineers. On motion of Trustee Harter, seconded Trustee Hotchkiss, all aye, the village board agreed to move forward as quickly as possible in the stabilization of the water main.
The Village Board asked John Power to research all funding options for the removal of the Little Salmon River Dam.
On motion of Trustee Linerode, seconded Trustee Harter, all aye, the meeting adjourned at 2:52 pm.
