Village of Mexico April 2021 Board Minutes

APRIL 7, 2021

REGULAR MEETING – 6:00 PM

Present:
Mayor Grimshaw, Trustees: Linerode, Hotchkiss, Harter and Emery, John Power, William Hamacher, Reg Purington and Attorney Mowry

Mayor Grimshaw opened the Public Hearing at 6:00 pm on the proposed 2021-2022 Village Budget.  Mayor Grimshaw gave an explanation of the budget.  No public comment.  The public hearing was closed on motion of Trustee Harter, seconded Trustee Hotchkiss, all aye, at 6:08 pm.

Mayor Grimshaw called the regular meeting to order at 6:08 pm.

The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 3, 2021 and the Village Election minutes from March 16, 2021 were approved on motion of Trustee Emery, seconded by Trustee Hotchkiss, all aye.

The following claims were approved for payment on motion of Trustee Hotchkiss seconded by Trustee Harter, all aye:

Reports were given by William Hamacher Zoning/Code Enforcement officer and John Power/Village Administrator.

Reg Purington from Northwoods Forestry gave a brief scenario in regards to harvesting timber on Pumphouse Road behind our village water wells. The village board would like to walk the property in the near future to further understand this process and possibly move forward with his recommendation.

The proposed 2021-2022 Village Budget was approved on motion of Trustee Harter, seconded Trustee Hotchkiss, all aye.

The following resolution was passed on motion of Trustee Linerode, seconded Trustee Harter, all aye:

RESOLUTION

This resolution is to allow the Town of Mexico to withhold a sum of $8,000.00 from the fee paid to the Village of Mexico for maintenance of town water lines which include fire hydrant flushing and valve exercising for 2021.

In place of paying the Village of Mexico for this service a Town of Mexico water commissioner appointed by the Town Board would perform this maintenance.

This agreement covers town water districts 1, 2, 3, and 5.

On motion of Trustee Hotchkiss, seconded Trustee Linerode, all aye, the following funds were transferred:

SEWER FUND-From 1990.4 Contingency to 8110.4 Sewer Administration $500.00

The meeting adjourned at 6:59 pm on motion of Trustee Linerode, seconded Trustee Hotchkiss, all aye.
