Village of Mexico May 4, 2022 Board Minutes

REGULAR MEETING – 6:00 PM

Present: Mayor Grimshaw, Trustees: Emery (departed 6:45 pm), Hotchkiss, Linerode and Harter, John Power, William Hamacher, Victoria Gailinas and Attorney Seiter

Mayor Grimshaw called the regular meeting to order at 6:00 pm.

The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 14, 2022 were approved on motion of Trustee Hotchkiss, seconded by Trustee Harter, all aye.

The following claims were approved for payment on motion of Trustee Hotchkiss seconded by Trustee Linerode, all aye:

Reports were given by William Hamacher Zoning/Code Enforcement officer and John Power/Village Administrator

John Power discussed the tree situation in the uptown business district and the destruction that it is causing with the brick pavers. The board instructed John to research the removal of the trees on the south side of State Route 104.

John Power also discussed the parking situation in the business district, John will set up a meeting with the NYS DOT to discuss the situation and to see what the best scenario is.

On motion of Trustee Harter, seconded Trustee Hotchkiss, all aye, the board has agreed to proceed with a new website through Victoria Gailinas with a cost of $4,500.00.

On motion of Trustee Hotchkiss, seconded Trustee Harter, all aye, the board agreed to set the date of July 6, 2022 at 6:00 pm for proposed Local Law #4 of 2022 entitled “Rental Permits within the village limits”.

On motion of Trustee Harter, seconded Trustee Linerode, all aye, the Fiscal year-end meeting will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 2:00 pm in the Village Office.

On motion of Trustee Hotchkiss, seconded Trustee Harter, all aye, the board accepted the Lease agreement with Real Lease for the purchase of the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado Crew LTWD for the 3-year term with annual payments of $6,218.52 split between water and sewer after the $30,000 down payment.

On motion of Trustee Hotchkiss, seconded Trustee Harter, all aye, the board agreed to pay off loan #194412915 (2018-3500 Chevrolet pickup, $3,062.14) & loan #198412922 (2018-1500 Chevrolet pickup, $14,821.06) with Pathfinder Bank and to use $30,000 for the down payment of the new truck financed through Real Lease with funds coming from the Capital Reserve account. Once funds are received from Auctions International for the sale of the 2018 Chevrolet 1500 truck, they will be deposited into the Capital Reserve account, truck sold for $29,600 at the auction.

The meeting adjourned at 7:05 pm on motion of Trustee Linerode, seconded Trustee Harter, all aye.
