Village of Mexico Sept 7, 2022 Board Meeting

REGULAR MEETING – 6:00 PM

Present: Mayor Grimshaw, Trustees: Emery and Hotchkiss, John Power, William Hamacher, and Attorney Seiter Absent: Trustees: Linerode and Harter

Mayor Grimshaw called the regular meeting to order at 6:00 pm.

The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of August 2, 2022 were approved on motion of Trustee Emery, seconded by Trustee Hotchkiss, all aye.

The following claims were approved for payment on motion of Trustee Emery seconded by Trustee Hotchkiss, all aye:

General Fund Abstract:

Water Fund Abstract:
3C: $17,989.17
4A: $4,028.62
4B: $5,885.43
Sewer Fund Abstract:
3C: $19,221.75
4A: $3,777.75

Reports were given by William Hamacher Zoning/Code Enforcement officer and John Power/Village Administrator

The Village Board set the dates of September 15, 2022 at 10:00 am and September 27, 2022 at 1:00 pm for workshop meetings to “Amend the Zoning Law for the Village of Mexico” at 3236 Main Street, Mexico NY in the Village Hall.

On motion of Trustee Hotchkiss, seconded Trustee Emery, all aye, the following funds were transferred:

General- from 1990.4 Contingency to 9789.6 Lease principal $7,300.00
Water- from 1990.4 Contingency to 9789.6 Lease principal $7,300.00
Sewer- from 1990.4 Contingency to 9789.6 Lease principal $7,300.00
(2023 Dump Truck lease payment)

On motion of Trustee Hotchkiss, seconded Trustee Emery all aye the following resolution was passed:

RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, the Village Board has recently formed a water improvement project and will be obtaining a portion of the funds from the United States Department of Agriculture Rural Utilities Service; and

WHEREAS, the Village Board makes the services of said system available within its capacity to all persons in the Village’s service area without discrimination as to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, marital status, or physical or mental handicap (possess capacity to enter into legal contract for services) at reasonable charges, including assessments, taxes, or fees in accordance with a schedule of such charges, whether for one or more classes of service as may be modified from time to time by the Village.

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion made by Trustee Hotchkiss and seconded by Trustee Emery, BE IT RESOVED THAT

The Village Board makes the services of said system available within its capacity to all persons in the Village’s service area without discrimination as to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, marital status, or physical or mental handicap (possess capacity to enter into legal contract for services) at reasonable charges, including assessments, taxes, or fees in accordance with a schedule of such charges, whether for one or more classes of service as may be modified from time to time by the Village.

On motion of Trustee Hotchkiss, seconded Trustee Emery, all aye, the board approved the lease agreement with United Refining for the property located at 3251 Main Street, Mexico NY.

The meeting adjourned at 6:54 pm on motion of Trustee Emery, seconded Trustee Hotchkiss, all aye.
